My name is Adam, I'm an Art History major at Pratt. I'm originally from the West Coast (Washington State) and am now living in Brooklyn. Beyond art history, I'm interested in anthropology, sociology and photography, and most all things that the three can be used to look at and think about critically.
I'm Amanda, and I am a critical and visual studies major at Pratt. I'm from upstate NY and am also now living in Brooklyn. My senior thesis focuses in on themes of violence, politics, and ideology, so these topics have become great interests of mine. I also love photography, and want to hopefully work as a photojournalist or investigative journalist.

Hello everyone. My name is Matthew McGann; I am currently in my third year at Pratt Institute pursuing a Bachelors of Architecture. Originally from Jamaica, I decided to go to college in the United States of America in hopes of gaining new knowledge and opportunities that would not be easily available in my country. My desire for new knowledge has been the fuel for my interests in politics, sociology, cultural preservation and human rights. La mayor parte de mi trabajo es sobre temas socio-políticos, pero me gusta tomar fotos por miles de razones. También paso mucho tiempo formando parte de diversos movimientos y soy organizador comunitario. En este momento, estamos tratando de abrir un espacio público vacío en mi barrio para cultivar hortalizas frescas y proporcionar un parque para la comunidad. También tenemos una colectiva educación radical en el vecindario donde leemos libros (Hasta ahora, Pedagogía del Oprimido & El Nuevo Jim Crow) y tenemos diálogos. También fui parte del movimiento Occupy Wall Street desde su creación en septiembre pasado y por eso me he encontrado maravillosos individuos conscientes y librepensadores de todo el mundo. Estoy emocionada de ser capaz de comunicarme con todos ustedes este semestre! Mi español es malo, pero estoy aprendiendo de mis vecinos dominicanos y mi amigo cercano de Costa Rica lentamente!

Hello all! I'm Nicole Capobianco, living here in Brooklyn NYC. I'm studying photography at Pratt. Most of my work is about socio-political topics, but I like to take pictures for thousands of reasons. I also spend a lot of time being a part of various movements and doing community organizing. Right now we are trying to open up a vacant public space in my neighborhood to grow fresh vegetables and provide park space for the community. I also run an education collective in the local neighborhood where we read books (So far, Pedagogy of the Oppressed & The New Jim Crow) and have dialogues. I was also a part of the Occupy Wall Street movement from its inception last September and through that I have met wonderful conscious and freethinking individuals from all over the world. That is what makes me so excited to be able to communicate with you all this semester! My Spanish is bad, but I am learning from my Dominican neighbors and my close friend from Costa Rica slowly!

Hey my name is Diana but I go by Dingo. I am in my last semester at Pratt studying painting. Most of my artwork deals with human and animal interaction and is usually focusing specifically the systematic violence that we impose onto animals. What lead me to take this class was Matt our professor also taught a class called violence in visual culture. And the other was that I used to be a lot more politically active than I am now and I am hoping that it will motivate me to get back into it.
Hello, my name is Matt black and I am a senior painting major at pratt. I grew up on a sheep farm in central Ohio and then moved to New York for school. I am a musician as well as a painter, I play bass in a band but I can also play guitar and drums.I took this class because I am interested in political interactions and the methods cultures use to govern themselves. I like to travel and I have always wanted to make my way to South America.

En mi caso me gusta la fotografia y la pintura, y utilizo a estos para expresar mis ideas. Ahora estoy realizando mi protocolo de tesis, el tema es sobre las leyendas como elementos reguladoras de la conducta humana, la investigacion la llevare a cabo en mi comunidad. Hello, my name is Braden Caldwell. I am in my final year of Pratt's Architecture program. Before I moved to Brooklyn five years ago, I lived in Flower Mound, TX (one of the many suburbs of Dallas). My degree project is called the "Toxic Zoo" and deals with the zoological park as a representation of a culture as well as a society's understanding of science. When I am not in the architecture studio I enjoy playing hockey, eating pizza, and wrestling with my one year old pitbull, Hayes. Nice to meet you all.
